FO: Scy(nti)lla(ting)

Project Page: Scyntillating
Pattern: Scylla by Fiona Lucas
Yarn: Knit Picks Imagination Hand Painted Sock Yarn in Ruby Slippers
Made for: J’s birthday!

I’m satisfied with these. The colorway is nice, the yarn base is nice, and the pattern is nice – I’m just not sure they all go together. The colorway is gorgeous and rich but might be better on a less fluffy yarn. The yarn base is wonderfully warm and squooshy but I think the brightness of the colorway is at odds with the homespun-rustic-comfort of the base. And the pattern does a nice job of breaking up pooling (and I always get awful pooling with KP yarns…), but it would do better in a yarn with more stitch definition, and possibly more variegation.

So, not the best planning on my part. I think they came out okay anyway.

Bonus: The cat approves.

Well the cat likes it, so all is well in the world.

Really, once they’ve received the Feline Stamp of Approval, there’s nothing else to be said.

So should we take bets on whether or not this is the trip that I will receive the Feline Stamp of Approval? I’m gonna go with not …
