FO: Bifrost

Project Page: Bifrost
Pattern: Hitchhiker by Martina Behm
Yarn: Three Irish Girls Springvale Sock in Bromance
Made for: Winter Holiday of Mitu‘s Choice, 2013

Photos courtesy of Mitu, because I’m bad at photographing things before I give them away (especially in the dark half of the year when THERE IS NO SUNLIGHT EVER).

Hitchhiker is a familiar pattern for any Raveller; it has over 13,00 projects and is the #9 most-crafted pattern on Ravelry as of this writing. Wow! It’s easy to see why, though – the pattern is simple, easy to memorize, and plays up variegated yarns beautifully. Like all knitters, I am helpless in the face of gorgeous multi-color yarns…and then have no idea what to make with them. But the dark, vivid rainbow hues of this colorway look fantastic in garter stitch – and also with Mitu’s turquoise coat, of which I am quite jealous.

Not much to say on this one other than the pictures don’t do it justice; the prettiest yarns are always so difficult to photograph! So instead I will leave you with bonus kitty kisses, featuring Nika.
