What is this I don’t even

Click for artist.

They’re pokemon. And alpaca. AT THE SAME TIME.

…does this mean I could knit something out of alpakachu fur? Because you know I totally would.

It occurs to me that I post a lot of pokemon stuff here. I’m not even that big into pokemon (it’s been at least a decade since I played the games or watched the anime)…I just love (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) Pikachu. And cuteness in general. So…there will probably be more adorable ‘chus and friends in the future.

BTW, the artist has some amazing stuff in her gallery, so I highly recommend checking it out. My personal favorite:

Elemental Wolf of Space.

IT’S SO PRETTY! She also has a couple of webcomics, and her art really is fantastic, so I’m off to read those…

The World of Dr. Evermor

Apparently it is now my job to document little-known places of AWESOME just chilling by the side of the road. I can’t claim any credit for discovering this one; apparently J. has been going there for years, and she made us stop in on our way back to Madtown from camping.

Today’s place of AWESOME: The World of Dr. Evermor. I’ll let you visit the website for the gritty details, but basically Dr. Evermore and his compatriots take discarded metal and turn it into fantastic sculptures. Admission is totally free, although they do accept donations, and volunteer help. I’m going to try to get out there sometime in the next few months to pitch in however I can (read: anything not involving heavy lifting), possibly with M. and J. Or Mitu, if she wants to come and visit.* Though I have long since given up on any pretensions of being a metalworker (unlike J., who makes awesome jewelry and wants to learn how to weld), the place is incredibly inspiring.

I really want to encourage people to see the park in person, so I’m only going to post a few pictures, but here’s a taste of the AWESOME there is to behold at the World of Dr. Evermor. Do yourself a favor and swing by if you’re ever in southern WI.

*We’re definitely going the next time you’re in WI, even if that’s November

UMi Image: Ursula and the Whangdoodle

Today’s an Ursula day but I didn’t feel like writing…hence, you get a doodle. Took about 2.25 hrs in Gimp. It’s not awful, but not nearly as good as I wanted it to be. Digital artwork is not my strong suit.

In a related note, if you’re drawing with your tablet and your cat decides to use the touchpad of your laptop as a pillow, said laptop will throw a fit and refuse to recognize any input from either tablet or touchpad until you succeed in removing said cat.

She still thinks she’s helping…

Illustration for the very end of Part 1 of Ursa Minor. Don’t ask me how the whangdoodle Tesla coil managed to sprout that many wires. This doesn’t quite capture the feeling I wanted, but I had a heck of a fun time shading the dress. The smudge tool is still my favorite thing.

You can find all of the story so far by clicking this shiny shiny link.

Litha!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tend to go a little crazy on Litha. I’m still a tad subdued due to my recent illness, but I’m sure insanity will prevail all the same! Litha is the one holiday where I don’t feel a lot of ‘I’m a bad Pagan who doesn’t do Sabbats etc properly’ guilt, because I know how to celebrate this one. Dance, and create, and be active, and generally just go crazy and be happy 🙂 Hurrah for Midsummer Madness! Today’s plans include a workout, more work on my room, my first bellydance class, whatever random doodling and other creativity I can fit in, and lots of running about like a crazy person.

The smudge tool is my new favorite thing ever. Also Rosie’s new favorite thing ever–she likes watching the cursor move around. This is a digital version of a sidewalk doodle I did three Lithas ago…for future reference, blending chalk on rough pavement is a really excellent way to take the skin off your fingers. Artwork is so much more personal with bits of bloody flesh mixed in, don’t you think?

Hmm…I wonder if we still have any sidewalk chalk…

Blessed Litha!

Clothes Pr0n

I’m sick and incapable of anything remotely productive, so enjoy the gorgeous clothes I found whilst trawling Elfwood searching for an artist I found about five years ago…unsuccessfully, I might add, but there are lots of pretty pictures from other artists.

http://www.elfwood.com/~kevin/Playing-with-Fire.2906023.html Hey look, a man!
http://www.elfwood.com/~potsey/Adventure-on-The-High-Seas.3126608.html Reminds me a little of the girl from One Piece, except a lot more stylish.

http://www.elfwood.com/~everose SO GORGEOUS. I especially love “Athena”
http://www.elfwood.com/~amalind Recommended: “Masquerade” and “Noble Raven”
http://www.elfwood.com/~margarethes Her style is so fun.
http://www.elfwood.com/~cbaker Some of these are NSFW, but lots of gorgeous technicolor.
http://jadegoblin.elfwood.com/most of these are NSFW. More gorgeous lack of clothes than anything else…but great art and sexy men and women.
http://www.elfwood.com/~kbarber Just amazing. Amazing. I couldn’t resist, I had to include one of hers here:

WANT.
